Maple Fritters dipped in Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup!

Here’s the recipe! 

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp maple sugar (use white sugar if you don’t have any.)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup light cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 
  • Canola oil for frying
  • powdered sugar
  • Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup from Red Mill Maple Syrup in Millbrook, Ontario.

In a bowl, sift flour, baking powder, sugar & salt.

Add cream cheese, eggs, vanilla extract. Mix. It will form a very thick and elastic batter. 

Heat a couple inches of oil in a small-medium size pan until the batter sizzles when dropping in. Cook on both sides for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm with a slight dusting of powdered sugar & with a warm bowl of Red Mill Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup!
